Lots of Socks Day
On Wednesday 21st March, we celebrated Lots of Socks Day. We learnt about the number of chromosomes that we can have and how important it is for us to understand and celebrate the uniqueness of each person in our community. We watched a video of parents with their children, and how they shared many important messages with us all. On Wednesday, we each brought in £1 as a donation for Downright Excellent. This charity aims to help children with Down syndrome in London to develop their life skills so they may reach their full potential as individuals and equally participating members of society.
As part of our work, Year 6 composed poems about how important it is for us to remember that we are more alike than different. Please take a look at one of our poems in the video below. We are not dressed in uniform as we recorded the video on Sport Relief Day.
