Ofsted - February 2019
St William of York recently was inspected under a Section 8 Ofsted Inspection. This was a short one-day inspection which aims to confirm that the school remains ‘Good’ or find evidence that the school may be ready to be inspected under a Section 5 inspection (a 2-day inspection). A short inspection does not result in a change of the overall effectiveness grade of the school.
The inspection found that the school continues to be good. However, the lead inspector found evidence that the school has ‘demonstrated strong practice and marked improvement in specific areas. This may indicate that the school has improved significantly overall’. This is the BEST outcome that we could get under the current framework and arrangements.
