This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been a wonderful sunny week here at school, and the warm weather has provided the perfect backdrop for our busy activities. Though the time has come for the chicks to return to the farm today, the children have thoroughly enjoyed watching them flourish and grow over the last fortnight. While we are sad to see them go, they have certainly left us all smiling with some very special memories of their time in our classrooms.

In addition to our feathery guests, the entire school visited the Adult Education Centre at the bottom of Brockley Road this week to take part in an ambitious whole school art project. This creative endeavour, which was planned and led by professional Bow Arts artists, saw every single child craft and paint their own individual clay tile. These unique pieces will eventually be displayed together as a collaborative installation outside our main entrance. The final piece is scheduled to be mounted during the May half-term, and we truly cannot wait to see the children's hard work transformed into a permanent landmark for our community.

Warm regards

Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)

School Information / Reminders

Key Information for Next Week

Next week, on Thursday and Friday, we will be having new sheds installed in the top and bottom playgrounds. If you have any donations to send in to help us with OPAL play, then please do bring them into school as we will have lovely big storage spaces to collect more equipment for our children to play with at playtime.

Gentle Reminders

Please remember that children should be wearing school SHOES. Our School Uniform lists and policy can be found here.

Trainers and boots are not part of our school uniform and children are not allowed to wear them unless they have a medical reason for doing so.

News and Updates

I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you all as we head into the weekend. Miss Holmes welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world last week, and I am pleased to report that both mum and baby are doing very well. This is such a joyful occasion for their family, and I am sure you will all join me in sending them our warmest congratulations and best wishes during this incredibly special time.

Thank You

Thank you for all of SWOYSAs hard work in organising our Krispy Kreme sale last week.

It is always a very popular event and we are grateful to all families who bought a sweet treat! All money raised will go towards our playground developments.
