Dear Parents and Carers
A huge thank you to SWOYSA for organising such a fantastic Autumn Disco and to everyone who came along to dance, laugh, and make it such a special evening! Your support helps us raise money towards improving our playground. We are hoping to raise money for a sandpit, a large mud kitchen, balance bikes, a refreshed pond area and some much-needed seating areas. We’re really excited to begin developing these spaces this term to make playtimes even more fun and creative for all our children.
Next week is Anti-Bullying Week, and we’ll be kicking things off on Monday 10th November with Odd Socks Day. It’s a chance for everyone to celebrate what makes us unique and to remind ourselves that kindness and respect are what make our school community shine. Just pop on a pair of brightly mismatched socks to join in!
Monday is also Cycle to School Day, and we’re encouraging everyone who can to hop on their bike or scooter. Our Year 5 and 6 pupils will also begin their Bikeability training, learning vital skills to help them ride safely and confidently.
Finally, our Book Fair is now open! Please see the timings below for when you can visit. It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore new stories together and every book purchased helps support our school to buy new books.
It is Remembrance Sunday this weekend. We will be doing our 2-minute silence on Tuesday 11am.
If you are able to, please do join us for Family Mass at St William of York Church this Sunday 9th November at 9.30am as our Yr5 & Yr6 children lead the singing.
Warm regards
Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)
