This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been a wonderful week at school! The children have been eager to share their learning and their fantastic work. Please take a moment to look at the snapshot of their learning featured below.

We are thrilled to enhance our PE provision this term with some expert coaching. Reception & Year 1: We are excited to welcome Munchkin Sports to SWOY! They have begun delivering high-energy PE sessions for our youngest learners and will be working with us throughout the entire term. Year 2 – Year 6 have started their cricket journey with a specialist coach from Kent County Cricket Club. These expert sessions will run for the duration of this half term.

We are very grateful for the expertise and excitement these specialist coaches bring to our school, providing our pupils with high-quality opportunities to develop their skills and a love for physical activity.

As the weather continues to be cold and wet, please make sure your child has a warm, waterproof coat in school.

Warm regards

Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)

Moments from the Classroom

Yr5 have been learning about the artist Peter Thorpe and used their learning as inspiration to create their own space art. They have produced beautiful paintings and we are very proud of their hard work and creativity.

Yr6 have been learning to create portraits using a variety of different marks and inks. They really enjoyed this project and they all produced some exceptional work. Well done Yr6!

The Beaver Colony is the first and youngest section of the Scout Group. Beaver Scouts are young people aged between 6 and 8 years old.  For fun, friendship and activities that get you thinking as well as doing.

Our parish Scout Group meet on Thursday evenings (term time only) at Lewisham Scouts DHQ on St Germans Road.

We have a few spaces for new members who are turning 6 to join our Beaver Colony.  Check out our website http://www.12thforesthill.scoutsonline.co.uk/  and get on the waiting list now.

Adults - if you have a skill you could share with us, please get in touch.  We all love learning.  Could you be one of our volunteers with Beavers, Cubs or even our new Scout Troop we'd like to re-open in October?  Could you be a group Trustee?  Training and support provided.
