This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

As we begin the Summer term, I’d like to extend a warm welcome back to all our families. It was a joy to witness our children, and former pupils, participating so fully in the life of the parish during Holy Week. Their contributions, through reading, singing, and serving, were a proud reflection of our school values and they were all an absolute credit to their families. Well done to everyone involved!

It is hard to believe how quickly this academic year is flying by, but as we enter this final term, we look forward to a season of growth and many exciting learning opportunities.

We have had a very special start to the week in our Reception class, where we have welcomed some very tiny visitors in the form of chick eggs. The children have been watching the incubator with bated breath, and I am delighted to share that five chicks have already hatched. All five are doing well and I am pleased to say that all classes will get the opportunity to visit our fluffy newcomers over the next week.

This week, teachers will also send out their termly letters to update you with key information as well as an overview of the curriculum for this term. Curriculum maps can also be found in the links below.

Thank you for your continued support as we begin this final chapter of the school year together.

Warm regards

Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)

Last half term, Year 3 dove deep into the world of the Romans, crafting some truly beautiful mosaic tiles. To bring their learning to life, Mr. Wilkie used his artistic flair to transform those tiles into an incredible Roman Baths scene for the children to explore - complete with Playmobil characters! #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #romans #romanbaths #playmobil

A Message from the Be Well Group at St William of York Church

We would like to speak with you about some events coming up that we would like you to sign up for and attend.

The first is on the 27th April we have the Lewisham Citizens Assembly at Beecroft School Brockley 6-8pm.  At the assembly we will be speaking with the Mayoral Candidates for the Labour and Green Party and asking them to work with us on Housing conditions, Mental health and wellbeing work and wages and Community Land trusts.  People is power and it is really important that we get a good turnout so that the politicians know that we are a force that will not go away and that we have influence.

We a have a Chin Chin making workshop on Saturday 2nd May 1.30-3.30 and on the 9th May 2-4pm we have our first anxiety workshop.  Please sign up for all of these events.  The leaflets and sign up sheets are in the narthex.
