This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been an incredibly hot week, but we have been very grateful that we have air conditioning in the school, which has luckily allowed us to keep cool. The children have thoroughly enjoyed a bit of water play at playtimes and lunchtimes, which has been lovely to watch, and they have been making some truly special memories together. Please do remember, as the hot weather continues, to apply suncream to your child before school and send them in with a sunhat and a water bottle.

We also held our welcome event for the new families joining us in Reception in September 2026, which was a wonderful success, and my fantastic EYFS team and Senior Leaders delivered brilliant mini-workshops for our new parents. The event, which highlighted the warmth of our community, was a great reminder of how special our school is, and I am, as always, incredibly grateful for my fantastic staff team.

Warm regards

Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)

After diving deep into Victorian history and learning all about the incredible work of Thomas Barnardo in class, our students got to experience it firsthand last week @raggedschoolmuseum They traded their modern whiteboards for slates and chalk, stepped into an authentic 1890s classroom, and even faced a very strict Victorian schoolteacher! (Let's just say they're all quite glad to be back in 2026!)#SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #thomasbarnardo #raggedschoolmuseum
