SWOY Day Picnic

Sunshine and Smiles: Celebrating Our Feast Day with the SWOY Day Picnic!

This afternoon, our school community came together for a truly wonderful afternoon to celebrate the Feast of St. William of York (SWOY Day). The annual event is one of the highlights of our school calendar, and this year’s celebration certainly did not disappoint!

Before the festivities kicked off, pupils spent time learning about our patron saint. St. William of York, who served as the Archbishop of York in the twelfth century, was known for his remarkable resilience, gentleness, and dedication to his community. Celebrating his feast day on 8th June reminds us all of the values of kindness and togetherness that lie at the very heart of our school.

To mark the occasion, the school community gathered out on the playground. Children and staff from all year groups sat side-by-side, sharing delicious food, chatting, and enjoying each other's company. The atmosphere was buzzing with laughter and community spirit as the children celebrated what makes our school so special.

The highlight of the afternoon for many came just as the picnics were wrapping up. To make the day extra memorable, every single student and staff member received a special feast day treat—a refreshing ice lolly to cool down in the summer sun!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, and to our wonderful pupils whose excellent behaviour made the day so joyous. Happy SWOY Day to everyone in our community!
