Dear Parents and Carers
As we come to the end of term and prepare to celebrate Christmas, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a truly special final week. Last week’s Nativity performances were simply incredible. The children performed with such confidence, joy and reverence, and they reminded us all of the true spirit of Christmas. This was echoed again on Tuesday evening, when our KS2 children sang so beautifully at the Christmas Carol Service. Their voices, behaviour and sense of togetherness made us immensely proud.
It is also a time when we share important news within our school family. I am delighted to announce that Miss Holmes, our Midday Meal Supervisor, is expecting a baby in April. We send her our warmest congratulations and very best wishes as she prepares for this exciting new chapter.
At this time of year, we also say thank you and farewell to some valued members of our school community. I would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Miss McDonagh, our Nursery Teaching Assistant, who is leaving us this week. We are so grateful for the care, dedication and warmth she has shown to our youngest children, and she will be greatly missed. We wish her every success and happiness in the next step of her career.
As you know, Miss Perry, our Year 4 teacher, is also leaving us this week as she returns to Australia. I would like to wish her the very best of luck! She has been a real credit to our staff team, and we have been very fortunate to have her as part of Team SWOY this term. We look forward to welcoming Mr Taylor back to Year 4 following his parental leave in January.
Finally, may I wish all our families a peaceful and joyful Christmas. Thank you for your continued support throughout the term. We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 6th January.
Season’s greetings to you all.
Warm regards
Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)
