This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been a lovely week in school, filled with sunshine and wonderful achievements. A huge congratulations to our Year 4 pupils who represented us so brilliantly at the Platform Cricket Festival today. They played exceptionally well, demonstrated fantastic teamwork. We are incredibly proud of them all!

We would also like to say a big thank you for all of your generous donations for our SWOY Day Picnic. We had a wonderful afternoon gathering together to celebrate the feast day of St William of York, and the children thoroughly enjoyed sharing food and a special ice lolly treat in the sun.

We also had our annual Governors' Day today. We are very lucky that we have a great group of committed and talented governors who volunteer their time to support our school community. They are instrumental in all of the strategic planning for our school and we are very grateful that they joined us for the day to see the fantastic things going on at SWOY.

Looking ahead, the next few weeks at school are going to be very busy. Please take a look at our calendar here to make sure you have all the key dates for sports day, upcoming school trips, leavers' plays, and other end-of-term events.

Warm regards

Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)

News and Updates

After decades of incredible dedication, Errol Walker has decided to retire this summer, and Rainbow After School Club will formally close on Friday 17th July 2026. We are immensely grateful to Errol and his team for their years of care and wish him a happy retirement.

To ensure a seamless transition, we are delighted to announce that Top Marks will be taking over both our Breakfast Club and After School Club from September 2026. Run by Mark Hyland, who has a longstanding relationship with our school, the club will remain on-site and will feature exciting new enrichment activities and holiday clubs. We are also hopeful for staff continuity to support the children. You can learn more about their provision at https://topmarksports.co.uk/after-school-clubs/

Thank You

Thank you to SWOYSA for helping to organise our International Day Celebrations last weekend.

It was great to see so many families attending to celebrate the huge diversity in our school and parish community.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Xavier in Yr3, who is doing incredibly well in football this season. Last week, his team won their Under 9s tournament! Congratulations to Xavi.

Congratulations to Cassius in Yr6, who swam 3000m during his swimming lessons this week. This is the same as 120 lengths of the pool! What an incredible achievement!
