Welcome from the Head Teacher

At St William of York Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that we provide a safe, nurturing, positive and inclusive experience for our children, parents and staff.

We aim for excellence in all that we do and encourage our pupils to achieve their full potential. We work in partnership with parents to celebrate the uniqueness of every child and embrace the individual gifts and talents of all of those in our school community. We are an inclusive school and we welcome families of all faiths, or no faith at all.

Year 6 enjoyed a whole day of creativity courtesy of Bow Arts. Artist and educator, Nicole Morris, challenged the class to think about their journey to school, the significant routes and places they pass and the different emotions experienced en route. They were introduced to a range of embroidery stitches and worked collaboratively on a large-scale drawing. We can't wait for the next session! @bowarts # Bowarts # creativejourneys # embroidery # mapping our emotions

Year 2 is on a roll with learning to measure in meters! We had a blast heading outside in the sunshine to measure lines in the playground. From measuring how tall we are to seeing how far we can jump, it was a fun way to bring our maths skills to life. Can't wait for more outdoor learning adventures! #Year2Learning #MeasuringInMeters #OutdoorClassroom #MathsIsFun

"There are wonderful benefits of a small school. Everything is more personal. Parents and children are greeted daily and everyone knows everyone’s name. The school is a friendly and caring environment for the children to learn in. Parents feel confident that their children are happy and we feel that we can take concerns to the teacher directly."
