Welcome from the Head Teacher

At St William of York Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that we provide a safe, nurturing, positive and inclusive experience for our children, parents and staff.

We aim for excellence in all that we do and encourage our pupils to achieve their full potential. We work in partnership with parents to celebrate the uniqueness of every child and embrace the individual gifts and talents of all of those in our school community. We are an inclusive school and we welcome families of all faiths, or no faith at all.

Year 1 had an inspiring day at Dulwich Picture Gallery, exploring the world of mark making and discovering how art connects to our wellbeing. From bold strokes to thoughtful lines, we learned that creativity can help us express our feelings and boost our mood! #MarkMaking #ArtAndWellbeing #Year1Adventures #DulwichPictureGallery #CreativeKids

Balances, jumps, rolls and travelling were all incorporated into the routines that Year 6 devised in groups during gymnastics lessons. We love using apparatus to include some different heights! #year6pe #gymnastics #indoorpe #workingtogether

Bucking the current downturn in reading nationally, Year 6 love spending time in our library - the woods at the top of the stairs. It's cold outside, but comfortable and cosy in our 'woods'! They were so into their books, you would have heard a pin drop! #readingforpleasure #thewoodsatthetopofthestairs #schoollibraries

Year 6 spent an action-packed day at Beckenham Place Park recently, learning how to use a compass with Greg from the Field Studies Council. Some of our orienteering routes took us straight through a leaf pile! Lots of fun was had by all! #field_studies_council #year6geography #learningoutdoors

"There are wonderful benefits of a small school. Everything is more personal. Parents and children are greeted daily and everyone knows everyone’s name. The school is a friendly and caring environment for the children to learn in. Parents feel confident that their children are happy and we feel that we can take concerns to the teacher directly."
