This week's letter from Mrs Mayers...

Dear Parents and Carers

Our Welcome Assembly this afternoon was a lovely way to mark the beginning of our Reception Class's journey at SWOY and to warmly welcome them into our school community. It was equally wonderful to welcome new pupils joining us in other year groups alongside several new members of staff. The celebration continues tonight, and we hope lots of you will join us at the Welcome BBQ this evening from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for food, fun, and community connection.

We are also delighted to announce that our school has officially received the prestigious Gold Accreditation for the Transport for London (TfL) Travel Award. This recognition highlights our community's fantastic commitment to active, safe, and sustainable travel, cutting down on local congestion and keeping our pupils healthy.

Last Sunday was Education Sunday, which invited us to reflect on the gift of education and the supportive role our Catholic community plays in nurturing our young people. Our learning journey this term has gotten off to a wonderful start, and we are truly thankful for our children, families, and staff as we look forward to working together in faith and friendship throughout the year ahead.

Warm regards

Hayley Mayers (Headteacher)

Our Rights Respecting School Article of the Week is...

Article 13 - Sharing Thoughts Freely

We have been thinking about why listening matters. As a school, some of our ideas included that we feel valued and respected and that it helps us to build trust and confidence.

In Assembly we have been reflecting on the importance of forgiveness...

‘Peter came up and said to Jesus, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?”’
