The Governors of St William of York School do not recommend that parents withdraw their child/children from school in term time.

It is expected that parents will arrange family holidays during the school holidays and not term time.

Parents must be aware that absences from school, particularly for periods longer than a few days, will have a detrimental effect on their child/children’s progress. It is not possible for teachers to arrange for pupils to make up missed work.

However, in exceptional circumstances, Governors are able to authorise up to 10 days leave absence in any one school year.
