The chicks are back on the farm

Our chicks have joined the other chicks who hatched on the farm, while our chicks were hatching here in school.
Our chicks have joined the other chicks who hatched on the farm, while our chicks were hatching here in school.
Our chicks are now all together in purpose-built brooding sheds with a large heat plate to keep them warm and cosy. They have special drinkers and a large feeder, so they have constant access to everything they need. They spend most of the day scratching about in the bedding and dust bathing to keep themselves clean.
They will stay here for a few more weeks. When they are large enough that they no longer need heat, they will be moved in small groups into chicken houses and out into the top field where they will spend their time eating grass, worms and bugs.
