Play is not just a break from learning - it is part of learning. With Opal play, we can make sure every child has the chance to play in their own way. 

OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) is all about making playtimes more fun, creative, and adventurous for every child. Through Opal, we want to make sure that play is a valued and important part of the school day, helping children to develop confidence, resilience, imagination and social skills. 

At this stage, we are learning together what play can look like when it is more open, inclusive and full of opportunities. You might start to notice some exciting new resources in the playground, from loose parts and construction materials to spaces where children can create, build, and explore in different ways. 

Our aim is to make playtimes richer and more enjoyable for all children, so that they leave school each day happier, healthier, and ready to learn.
