Yr3 Trip to Beckenham Place Park

Year 3 Explore the Wonders of Nature at Beckenham Place Park

Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic, hands-on learning adventure recently during their school trip to Beckenham Place Park. The young explorers spent the day acting as real scientists to discover exactly what types of trees and wild plants are growing in our local area.

During the visit, the children put their science skills to the test by identifying and describing the different parts of a plant, discussing the clever functions of everything from the deep roots to the bright petals. The park provided the perfect outdoor classroom to explore the fascinating plant life cycle up close. Our pupils investigated the exact conditions seeds need to germinate, examined the vital role flowers play in pollination and seed formation, and even hunted for different examples of seed dispersal in the wild.

The children showed wonderful curiosity throughout the day, asking brilliant questions and representing our school beautifully. Well done to Year 3 for being such enthusiastic botanists!
