Yr6 Leavers' Play - The Lion King
Yr6 made us all incredibly proud as they performed like true stars in their performance of The Lion King
What an absolute triumph! This week, our incredible Year 6 pupils took to the stage for their highly anticipated leavers’ play, and to say they blew us all away would be an understatement. It was, without a doubt, a phenomenal success from start to finish.
From the moment the curtains rose, our Year 6 children shone like the absolute stars they are. Delivering their lines with incredible confidence, they spoke clearly and loudly, ensuring that every single member of the audience caught every witty joke and dramatic beat. The sheer talent on display was breathtaking. Our superstars brought the house down with beautiful singing, filling the hall with pitch-perfect harmony and immense energy. The choreography was executed with brilliant rhythm, coordination, and bags of enthusiasm. A special shout-out must go to our incredibly talented drummers, who kept the beat perfectly and added a fantastic, high-energy rhythm to the show.
Beyond their musical and theatrical talents, the children’s comedic timing was spot on. The play was absolutely hilarious, keeping the audience in stitches from the opening scene to the final bow. It was wonderful to see the children supporting one another on stage, performing with a level of maturity, joy, and teamwork, which made the entire school community incredibly proud.
Putting on a production of this scale takes immense hard work, dedication, and courage, and our Year 6 pupils did not just meet the challenge, they surpassed it in every way. They were fantastic, professional, and a true credit to our school. To watch them perform with such joy and confidence was a privilege, and they have left us with wonderful memories that we will cherish for a very long time.
A production like this is a massive team effort. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Ms Webster, Mrs Shanahan, Ms Di, Mr Wilkie and Miss Barber, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and also to our wonderful parents and families, who helped so much with learning lines. Most of all, we want to thank Year 6 for giving us a show we will never forget. You are all superstars, and we know you will continue to shine incredibly bright as you take your next steps into secondary school.
