New Playground Opening
Grand Opening! Celebrating Our Incredible New OPAL-Inspired Playground
Excitement was in the air on Tuesday as we officially opened our brand-new playground!
The ribbon was proudly cut by our School Council and Play Leaders, who have worked tirelessly over the past year to help design the space. From initial brainstorming sessions to sharing ideas from their classmates, our student leaders had a huge say in shaping what our outdoor area would look like.
Throughout Tuesday, every class got the chance to step outside, explore, and try out all the new zones. The enthusiasm hasn't stopped, with children right across the school spending this week discovering everything our revamped grounds have to offer.
Some of the amazing new areas our pupils are already enjoying include:
-
The Pond Area: A peaceful spot for observing nature and local wildlife.
-
Mud Kitchens & Water Play Zone: Perfect for messy, creative, and sensory play.
-
Climbing Frames & Dens: Ideal for active adventure, teamwork, and imaginative games.
-
Chalkboards and Whiteboards: Opportunities for drawing and writing
-
Cycle Track: Giving everyone a chance to zoom around and build up their physical confidence.
This transformation marks a massive milestone in our Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) journey, which began 12 months ago. Next week, we are excited to welcome our OPAL consultant back to school. We can't wait to show them just how much our playtimes have transformed into richer, more creative, and active experiences for every single child.
A huge thank you to our School Council, Play Leaders, staff, and everyone who helped turn our dream playground into a reality! To see more photos of our playground visit the gallery.
