Welcome from the Head Teacher

At St William of York Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that we provide a safe, nurturing, positive and inclusive experience for our children, parents and staff.

We aim for excellence in all that we do and encourage our pupils to achieve their full potential. We work in partnership with parents to celebrate the uniqueness of every child and embrace the individual gifts and talents of all of those in our school community. We are an inclusive school and we welcome families of all faiths, or no faith at all.

Welcome back to Swoy, Topmarks! We are thrilled to welcome Mark and the Topmarks team back to St. William of York! Topmarks actually began its journey right here at SWOY many years ago. Because of that special connection, having them back feels extra meaningful to our school family. Topmarks will now be running both our Breakfast Club and After-School Club, offering a fantastic range of activities for the children. They will also be delivering expert PE coaching for our outdoor physical education sessions! How to Book: Head over to our website and check under the Parents tab and Wrap Around Care tab to secure your child's spot! @topmarksports #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #topmarks #wraparoundcare #afterschoolclub #breakfastclub

Our Year 6 leavers absolutely blew us away with their performance of The Lion King. We couldn't be prouder of every single one of them. Their singing, dancing and acting were outstanding, and they performed with such confidence, energy and heart. What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of their primary school journey! A huge thank you to Ms Webster for patiently coaching the children through their lines and positions, and for helping with their make-up on the evening, alongside her daughter. Your dedication made such a difference. As always, a massive thank you to Mrs Shanahan for bringing the music to life, helping the children shine in their acting, and for injecting the magic that makes our school so special. Special thanks also to Mr Wilkie for his incredible backdrop and the amazing animal headdresses, Miss Di for creating every one of the children's fantastic costumes, and Miss Barber for all of her help with the props. Your artistic talent, creativity and hard work helped transform the production into something truly spectacular. This production was a perfect example of our wonderful school community coming together to create something unforgettable. Thank you to everyone who played a partand most of all, congratulations to our amazing Year 6 children. We are so proud of you all! #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #lionking

"There are wonderful benefits of a small school. Everything is more personal. Parents and children are greeted daily and everyone knows everyone’s name. The school is a friendly and caring environment for the children to learn in. Parents feel confident that their children are happy and we feel that we can take concerns to the teacher directly."
