Welcome from the Head Teacher

At St William of York Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that we provide a safe, nurturing, positive and inclusive experience for our children, parents and staff.

We aim for excellence in all that we do and encourage our pupils to achieve their full potential. We work in partnership with parents to celebrate the uniqueness of every child and embrace the individual gifts and talents of all of those in our school community. We are an inclusive school and we welcome families of all faiths, or no faith at all.

Our reception class have had a very special two weeks, watching tiny eggs hatch into fluffy chicks right before their eyes. The children have loved caring for them, learning about life cycles, and seeing how much they've grown each day. #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #chicks

Our Year 1 mathematicians have been busy getting hands-on with concrete resources to bring abstract numbers to life! These physical tools are the essential 'secret sauce' for building a deep confidence and solid foundation in their mathematical thinking. #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #maths #concreteresourcesformaths

Last half term, Year 3 dove deep into the world of the Romans, crafting some truly beautiful mosaic tiles. To bring their learning to life, Mr. Wilkie used his artistic flair to transform those tiles into an incredible Roman Baths scene for the children to explore - complete with Playmobil characters! #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #romans #romanbaths #playmobil

We are still smiling after last Friday's talent show. Every single contestant was a star - it takes so much courage to get up in front of everyone, and you were all brilliant. A special thanks to Mr. Morris for hosting with such 'classic Morris' humor - the kids loved every second! And a big hand for our School Council reps, who judged the show fantastically. It was a true team effort! #SWOY #Stwilliamofyork #Catholicprimaryschool #Selondon #Lewisham #Foresthill #SE23 #education #talentshow #rednoseday

"There are wonderful benefits of a small school. Everything is more personal. Parents and children are greeted daily and everyone knows everyone’s name. The school is a friendly and caring environment for the children to learn in. Parents feel confident that their children are happy and we feel that we can take concerns to the teacher directly."
