Our halls were filled with creativity, confidence, and expressive performance this week as we welcomed a special LAMDA drama assembly and workshop to our school. LAMDA, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, is one of the UK’s leading drama schools. Through its speech and drama program, children develop essential life skills, including vocal projection, clear communication, creative expression, and self-assurance, by engaging with poetry, acting, and public speaking.

The energy throughout the day was brilliant, starting with a whole-school assembly where every pupil took on the challenge of learning a new poem. The children embraced the activity with incredible enthusiasm, demonstrating such impressive focus and memory that pupils across all year groups could still remember and recite the poem by the end of the day. Following the assembly, Year 1 took part in a dedicated drama workshop. Year 1 were fantastic in their class this week, having a great time while exploring their creativity and developing their performance skills.
