Reception Trip to the Fire Station

Our Reception children experienced a day in the life of a firefighter at the local station, where they learned about community service from the "real-life superheroes" of Blue Watch through plenty of water-based fun
Little Heroes: Reception Class Take Over Local Fire Station
The sirens were silent, but the excitement was deafening this week as our Reception children traded their school jumpers for yellow helmets to become firefighters for the day. The trip to our local fire station proved to be an unforgettable experience, bringing the world of community service to life for our youngest learners.
The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the hands-on training session. Under the watchful eyes of the professionals, the children were given the chance to handle the powerful fire hoses. It is safe to say there was a lot of water and a lot of fun, as the children practised their aim and learnt just how much strength it takes to keep our community safe.
We would like to extend a massive thank you to Blue Watch for their incredible hospitality. They took the time to show the children exactly what they do to help the local community every day, from explaining the specialised equipment on the engine to sharing stories of their rescue missions. To our pupils, they weren't just firefighters, they were real-life superheroes.
Experiences like these are vital for our children, as they help them understand the roles of those who protect and serve us. We are very proud of how our Reception class represented the school, showing great curiosity and respect throughout the day.
