Yr2 Trip to St Paul's Cathedral

Year 2 Discover the Great Fire of London at St Paul’s Cathedral 🔥⛪

This week, our Year 2 pupils embarked on an exciting trip to St Paul’s Cathedral as part of their learning about the Great Fire of London. They got the train from Catford to Black Friars. The visit helped bring their history topic to life, giving the children a chance to see one of the most iconic landmarks linked to this important event.

During the trip, pupils took part in a special workshop where they learned about how the fire started in 1666, how it spread across the city, and how London was rebuilt afterwards. They were fascinated to hear about the original St Paul’s Cathedral and the incredible work of Sir Christopher Wren, who designed the new building that still stands today.

The children showed great curiosity, asking brilliant questions and making thoughtful connections to what they’ve been learning in class. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, exploration, and awe at the beauty and history of St Paul’s.

Well done, Year 2 — you represented our school beautifully and made us very proud! 🔥🏙️
