Yr6 Trip to Beckenham Place Park

Yr6 went on a trip to learn about field studies at Beckenham

Our Year 6 class had a fantastic trip to Beckenham Place Park this week! The children travelled by train from Catford to Beckenham Hill, which was an adventure in itself and a great opportunity to practise independence and teamwork.

Once at the park, the class worked with the Field Studies Council (FSC) to develop their geography fieldwork skills. They learned how to use grid references, read maps, and use compasses to navigate and explore the area. The hands-on experience really helped bring their classroom learning to life and gave everyone a deeper understanding of how geography connects to the world around us.

The children represented our school brilliantly throughout the day – showing curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm. Well done, Year 6!
