Nursery Admissions

St William of York arranges its own admissions to the Nursery. Children can be offered a place once they are 3 yrs old. If we have vacancies, they do not need to wait until the new term, but we will allow children to start on a rolling basis. Do come and visit our lovely, vibrant .

You do NOT need to be a Catholic to join our Nursery class, as we often have spaces and do not need to apply the over subscription criteria.

Come and see our Nursery, please book your place using the link below. If there is no availability please email the school office.

Applying for a Nursery place

The Nursery has 25 places available, and can offer 30 hrs a week to eligible parents. In addition, for those parents entitled to 15hrs per week, part-time places are available for a morning or an afternoon session. The morning session is from 9am - 12pm, and the afternoon session is available from 12.00pm - 3.00pm.

We are confident that they will have a positive and happy start to their education at SWOY.

Please complete the Application Form, once a space has been allocated, please then bring a copy of the child's Birth Certificate and your Proof of Address.

Nursery Fees and Funding Information

At St William of York, we are committed to providing transparent and flexible childcare. We offer the statutory 15 and 30-hour entitlements for eligible children on a term-time-only basis.

1. Funded Entitlement
15-Hour / 30-Hour Funding: All funded hours are delivered free at the point of delivery.
We do not charge "top-up" fees (the difference between our private rate and the government funding rate) for these hours.
Funding can be applied to our morning (09:00–12:00) / afternoon (12:00–15:00) sessions or all-day 09:00-15:00).

2. Additional Sessions (Private Paid)
Parents who wish to access hours beyond their funded entitlement, or those who do not qualify for funding, may purchase additional sessions:
Morning Session (09:00–12:00): £20.25 per session
Afternoon Session (12:00–15:00): £20.25 per session
Full Day (09:00–15:00): £40.50 for each full day

3. Consumables and Extras
To keep our core entitlement free, we offer the following options for consumables and additional activities:
Meals:

  • Lunch: Parents of children attending a morning or full-day session may provide a healthy packed lunch at no cost. Alternatively, a hot lunch can be provided by the nursery at a cost of £2.40 per day.
  • Nappies and Wipes: We do not provide nappies or wipes. Parents are required to provide them for their child.

Forest School: We are proud to offer Forest School trips. These are currently fully subsidised by the nursery, meaning there is no cost to parents for participation.

 4. Invoicing and Payments

  • We will only invoice parents for additional (private paid) sessions and all invoices clearly show the weeks and the number of sessions being charged.
  • Meal charges are payable via the Arbor Parent App. This ensures you can see exactly what you are being charged for.

Payment is due by last working day of each month. We accept payments via Arbor Parent App or cash to the school office for meals and additional (private paid) hours.
